The Artificial Intelligence Special Committee of the Luohu Federation of Industry and Commerce (General Chamber of Commerce) was officially established Sept. 15 at a ceremony held alongside an industry matchmaking event.

Nearly 90 representatives from industry associations, venture capital institutions and AI-related private enterprises attended the event, where the committee was formally unveiled.

The committee is an initiative of the Luohu Federation of Industry and Commerce to implement the district’s development plans and promote the integration of technological innovation with the real economy. It will support Luohu’s “AI+” initiative by connecting AI technologies with real-world application needs, strengthening industrial cooperation and helping traditional industries reduce costs and improve efficiency.

According to a survey by the federation, sectors including commerce, services, and gold and jewelry are accelerating their digital transformation and seeking AI solutions. Meanwhile, Luohu has attracted AI companies covering much of the industrial chain, including chip hardware, algorithm development, scenario applications, digital services and supporting services.

However, many of these companies still lack access to practical application scenarios and opportunities for commercial validation. The committee will help address these challenges by bringing companies together, strengthening collaboration, supplementing industrial chains and supporting the digital transformation of traditional industries.

Eight leading AI companies were appointed as rotating chair units, while 26 enterprises became the committee’s first members. Their businesses cover areas including smart cities, big data, the Internet of Things, machine vision, intelligent hardware and digital services.

The committee will organize industry exchanges, technical seminars, enterprise visits, policy briefings and supply-and-demand matchmaking. It will also promote cooperation among businesses, universities, research institutions, government agencies and investment institutions.

During the event, companies showcased AI technologies and solutions for smart retail, data governance, intelligent vision and other applications. Experts and government officials introduced developments in embodied intelligence, Luohu’s AI industry strategy and related policy support.

The committee is expected to reduce information barriers between industries, improve the matching of technologies, application scenarios and resources, and strengthen Luohu’s AI industrial chain in support of the district’s “3+3+4” modern industrial system.
