Luohu held an industry matchmaking event for gazelle and unicorn enterprises Sept. 1, with 16 high-growth companies officially recognized.
According to the Shenzhen Gazelle and Unicorn Enterprise Report 2026, Luohu added 43 high-growth enterprises last year, representing a year-on-year increase of 207 percent, the highest growth rate among Shenzhen’s districts.
During the event, officials provided detailed briefings on Luohu’s industrial support policies and enterprise cultivation services.
The event focused on the major needs of high-growth companies, including financing, talent recruitment and global expansion. Representatives from investment firms shared insights into enterprise selection criteria, capital valuation, talent policies, Shenzhen-Hong Kong cooperation and overseas expansion services.
Through platforms such as the Sungang Venture Capital Agglomeration Zone and “Angel Hub • Luohu,” Luohu has established a diversified financing system combining equity investment, bank credit and policy-based interest subsidies. It also regularly organizes industry and financing matchmaking activities.
Luohu’s “Luoxindai” credit product has provided more than 10 billion yuan (US$1.49 billion) in new credit lines during the year. The district also has access to 3 billion yuan in government-guided fund capital, nearly 7 billion yuan in direct investment from State-owned enterprises, a 1 billion yuan industry promotion fund, 500 million yuan in cornerstone investment, a 1 billion yuan disruptive technology venture capital fund, and 20 industrial funds with a combined value of 53.3 billion yuan. Together, these resources are intended to support enterprises throughout their entire life cycle.
Before the event, Luohu collected the participating companies’ needs and carried out preliminary resource matching. On-site matchmaking areas were established with the participation of multiple financial institutions. Through project roadshows and one-on-one negotiations, companies reached several preliminary cooperation agreements.
In recent years, Luohu has developed three 100-billion-yuan-level industrial clusters in finance, commerce and trade, and gold and jewelry, along with four 10-billion-yuan-level clusters. The added value of strategic emerging industries now accounts for more than 10 percent of the district’s GDP.
The district is home to more than 800 national-level high-tech enterprises and over 400 specialized and sophisticated “little giant” companies. To date, Luohu has cultivated 19 specialized “little giant” enterprises, seven key “little giant” enterprises, 31 gazelle enterprises and 12 potential, or seed-stage, unicorn enterprises.
