2026 World Internet Conference Asia-Pacific Summit opens in Hong Kong

The 2026 World Internet Conference (WIC) Asia-Pacific Summit opened on April 13 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center, bringing together global leaders to discuss the future of digital innovation. The two-day summit focuses on cutting-edge technologies across the Asia-Pacific region and aims to break geographical boundaries while advancing global digital cooperation.
The opening ceremony was attended by John Lee, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, senior representatives of central government agencies in Hong Kong, and guests from various sectors. The summit features a main forum and six thematic sub-forums covering topics such as intelligent agent innovation and applications, digital finance, AI safety and governance, smart living, digital health, and the digitalization and dissemination of classical works.
Over the next two days, government officials, business leaders, representatives of international organizations, and academic experts from around the world will gather to exchange insights on frontier issues in the internet sector. Their discussions aim to inject new momentum into regional digital development and strengthen Asia-Pacific cooperation in the digital era.
The summit is hosted by the World Internet Conference, organized by the Hong Kong SAR Government, and coorganized by Hong Kong Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau.
