Luohu District has received encouraging news in the latest recognition of outstanding volunteer service role models in Guangdong Province, with two local programs honored for their contribution to public service and community development.

The “Star Classroom” volunteer program for children with disabilities was recognized as an outstanding volunteer service project, while Yucun Community in Nanhu Subdistrict was named an outstanding volunteer service community.

“Star Classroom” is a long-running public welfare program in Luohu that provides free rehabilitation, education and family support services for children with disabilities. Over the years, it has helped many children build confidence, improve communication skills and better integrate into school and society, bringing hope to countless families.

Yucun Community was recognized for its active volunteer culture and community-based service model. The community has developed a range of volunteer programs focusing on neighborhood support, cross-border community engagement and care for residents, helping foster a warmer, more connected and more inclusive community environment.
