The 2026 Luohu Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Food Festival opened on Jan. 28 at Luohu Sports Center in Shenzhen, launching a five-day carnival that blends traditional culture, cuisine and live entertainment.

Running from Jan. 28 to Feb. 2, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily, the festival is part of Luohu's efforts to promote cultural and tourism integration and stimulate holiday consumption. The event is themed around "ICH heritage + food feast + rock music for the Spring Festival," creating a lively New Year atmosphere for residents and visitors.

Food is the central highlight of the festival. Vendors from across China have brought a wide range of ICH-style delicacies, including traditional pastries and regional snacks. The aromas fill the venue, allowing visitors to experience the charm of intangible cultural heritage through taste, while live performances add to the festive mood.

To enhance family-friendly interaction, the organizers have introduced a large-scale illuminated amusement park, open daily from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. With colorful light displays and interactive rides, the area offers a joyful experience for families and visitors of all ages.

"The event is really thoughtful. We can watch performances, enjoy great food, and let the kids have fun — all in one place," said a resident surnamed Liu.

To attract larger crowds and benefit the public, the festival adopts a model that combines public-interest promotions with commercial incentives. Visitors can receive free tasting vouchers and consumption discount coupons through simple registration, encouraging both participation and spending.

The event is expected to attract over 100,000 visits, boosting nearby catering and retail businesses while enhancing the profile of Luohu Sports Center.
