Luohu district CPPCC opens sixth session, sets agenda for 2026

The sixth session of the sixth Luohu District Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) opened on Jan. 26.
A work report delivered at the meeting reviewed the committee's performance in 2025, the final year of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025), and outlined key tasks for 2026, the opening year of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).
Since the fifth session of the sixth Luohu District CPPCC, political advisers, participating organizations and special committees have submitted a total of 243 proposals. After review, 216 were accepted for handling. Of these, 95 focused on economic and technological development, accounting for 43.98% of the total and closely aligning with Luohu's efforts to accelerate the creation of the "three strengths and three zones" and promote industrial upgrading.
Proposals related to culture, education, healthcare and sports numbered 62, accounting for 28.7%, while 52 addressed public security, urban management and environmental protection, making up 24.07%. Another seven proposals, or 3.25%, concerned united front and labor-related issues.
The meeting noted that all accepted proposals were assigned to 45 relevant government departments and have been fully handled, with a satisfaction rate of 100%. Outstanding proposals and individuals were commended at the session.
The year 2026 marks both the start of the 15th Five-Year Plan period and the year Shenzhen will host the APEC meetings. In line with the decisions of the fourth plenary session of the eighth Luohu District Party Congress, the district CPPCC will focus on accelerating the creation of the "three strengths and three zones", prioritizing industrial upgrading, advancing reform through collective wisdom, and addressing public concerns. Through consultation and coordinated action, it aims to build a more innovative and livable Luohu and support the district's pursuit of breakthroughs in developing into a model of sustainable socialist modernization.
