Liantang Port clears over 30 million cross-border travelers in 2025

By Dec. 24, the Liantang Port Checkpoint in Shenzhen had processed more than 30 million inbound and outbound passenger trips this year, surpassing the 30-million mark for the first time. The figure represents a year-on-year increase of over 15 percent.
Leveraging its advantages as a major transportation hub with seamless intermodal connections, Liantang Port now handles more than 200 tour groups from across the Chinese mainland each day, providing direct access to major tourist destinations in Hong Kong and Macao. Demand for organized Hong Kong-Macao tours and family-oriented cross-border travel has continued to grow.
Liantang Port is the first checkpoint between Shenzhen and Hong Kong to adopt a "people-and-vehicles direct access" clearance model. The design enables point-to-point cross-border travel, allowing cyclists to pass through without folding their bicycles and complete immigration procedures in a single stop. With no cycling-restricted zones outside the port, travelers can ride directly to the checkpoint and push their bicycles across the border.
Parking facilities for private vehicles at both Liantang Port and Hong Kong's Heung Yuen Wai Control Point are located in the underground levels of the port buildings, making self-driving cross-border travel more convenient.
Inside Liantang port, services such as currency exchange and mobile phone SIM card registration are readily available, allowing travelers to meet basic daily needs immediately after clearing immigration without leaving the port area.
