Shenzhen's Donghu Park to host 21-day chrysanthemum festival

Shenzhen's Donghu Park will host its 41st Chrysanthemum Festival from Dec. 15, 2025 to Jan. 4, 2026, presenting a 21-day floral showcase themed "Promoting Traditional Culture and Shaping a City IP." The event supports the city's "Mountains and Seas Linking City, Green and Beautiful Shenzhen" initiative by blending local culture, artistic installations and interactive experiences into a vibrant winter attraction.
This year's festival will feature more than 100,000 chrysanthemum pots across six major color palettes—red, pink, orange, yellow, green and white. Over 300 varieties will be displayed, including signature types such as single-headed chrysanthemums and large-bloom cultivars.
Floral arrangements will cover more than 5,000 square meters. One of the highlights is a nearly 1,000-square-meter field of cosmos sulphureus and sunflowers, where golden blossoms create a sea of gently undulating color.
The festival will also present a diverse program of events, including a photography competition, cultural-creative market, tech showcase, chrysanthemum-themed tea gathering, Tang-style parade and live band performances. Food stalls, coffee and light snacks, AR interaction zones, photo spots and brand exhibitions will further enhance the experience, catering to cross-border tourists, families, influencers and seniors alike.
Donghu Park has also launched its new "AI Smart Park" system featuring the C-Life digital motion-sensing fitness screen and AI service robots, applying cutting-edge technologies to improve the park's leisure and sports services.
At the park's west gate, a newly opened "Pet Zone" builds on Luohu district's designation as a "China Pet-Friendly Demonstration District." Two leading pet-industry companies have already moved in, offering upgraded amenities for visitors and their animal companions.
