Luohu shines in Guangdong's new cultural and tourism maps

Guangdong launched a new series of cultural and tourism maps on Tuesday, and Luohu District emerged as a highlight, with three of its ecological sites included among the first batch of 30 nature reserves and 20 botanical gardens featured.
The maps, released at a provincial press conference, showcase high-quality cultural venues, tourist attractions and natural landscapes across Guangdong.
Shenzhen Fairy Lake Botanical Garden, the Shenzhen Orchid Conservation and Research Center, and the Wutong Mountain National Scenic Area in Luohu were included, underscoring the district's strong ecological assets and cultural tourism appeal within an urban core.
The launch of the map series forms part of the province-wide consumption season, running from November 2025 to March 2026. As an important initiative of the campaign, the maps aim to make winter cultural and leisure consumption more accessible and engaging.
The maps integrate digital features such as intelligent recommendations, route planning, and interactive sharing. These tools help link sites into connected experience routes, creating diversified tourism options including ecological tours, study trips, coastal cycling, and intangible cultural heritage experiences.
The map series brings together five major categories of resources from all 21 prefecture-level cities in Guangdong — museums, public libraries, cultural centers, art galleries and scenic attractions. Core information of each site is displayed with visualized geographic distribution.
Notably, the maps feature 100 nationally rated 4A-level and above scenic areas, covering coastal tourism, forests, hot springs, and theme parks, aligning precisely with growing demand for warm-winter vacations, eco-wellness tourism and leisure shopping.
