3rd Bay Area (Shenzhen) University Go and Chess League concludes

The 3rd Bay Area (Shenzhen) University Go and Chess League concluded on Sunday at the Shenzhen Chess Academy in Luohu, bringing together nearly 130 students from 34 universities worldwide for two days of competition.
After five rounds, teams from Seoul National University, Waseda University, Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School, National University of Singapore, Wuhan University and Shenzhen University placed in the top ranks in the Go team event.
In the chess team competition, strong performances were delivered by Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Peking University, Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Shenzhen MSU-BIT University and Shenzhen University.
The event provided a high-level platform for university players to compete and connect, further promoting mind sports across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The venue, Shenzhen Chess Academy (Yinhu), previously hosted the board game events of the 15th National Games and witnessed the awarding of 24 gold medals.
The league marks another major step in Shenzhen's efforts to advance mind sports, following its role as a host city for National Games chess events.
