Luohu unveils ambitious smart elderly care initiative to enhance seniors' wellbeing

Luohu district has launched a major initiative to advance elderly care through technology, hosting a special release event on the high-quality development of its smart elderly care industry on Oct. 28.
Themed "Smart Luohu, Enjoyable Silver Age," the event gathered key officials including Zhang Feng, director of the Luohu District Civil Affairs Bureau, and Wang Shaowen, deputy director of the Luohu District Science, Technology, and Industry Information Bureau, along with representatives from leading enterprises.
At the event, Luohu officially released the "Smart Elderly Care Industry High-Quality Development Work Plan," a comprehensive blueprint charting the district's strategic path to integrate advanced technologies into eldercare services and deliver tangible benefits to its senior population.
Action-oriented and pragmatic, the plan identifies five major application scenarios and three key consumption areas, details 16 specific projects, and introduces a set of precise, supportive policies to ensure effective implementation.
The event also served as a platform to strengthen industry collaboration, with signing ceremonies between benchmark companies and institutions in the smart elderly care sector. These partnerships are expected to accelerate innovation and service delivery.
At the same time, the "Silver Age Smart Enjoyment Market" was launched, featuring AI-powered and high-tech products designed for seniors — from rehabilitation robots and intelligent hearing aids to companion robots and smart emergency cards — highlighting Luohu's practical and forward-looking achievements in the field.
Looking ahead, as these measures take root, the integration of "smart technology + elderly care" is set to unlock new innovative potential, benefiting countless families and improving the quality of life for Luohu's silver-haired community.
