Luohu holds first youth sailing and windsurfing competition

On Oct. 19, the first Luohu district sailing and windsurfing competition for primary and secondary school students set sail at the Shenzhen Marina Club. The event was a festive gathering for young water sports enthusiasts and marked a new milestone in Luohu's innovative approach to sports education.
The competition attracted student athletes from a number of schools across Luohu district, including Luohu Experimental School, Songquan Experimental School, Cuiyuan Junior High School, Wenjin Middle School, the Affiliated School of Southern University of Science and Technology (Luohu), Jingbei Primary School, Nanhu Primary School, Guiyuan Primary School, and Dongchang Primary School.
Races were held in various categories, including boys' and girls' windsurfing and several Optimist (OP) sailing divisions, covering a wide range of ages and skill levels. The event provided a comprehensive platform to showcase the growing strength and vitality of youth sailing in Luohu.
As the organizer, Luohu Experimental School carried out meticulous work in event planning, venue coordination, and logistical support. Its athletes achieved outstanding results, winning a total of two gold, eight silver, and four bronze medals — demonstrating the collaborative spirit and excellence of Luohu's education system.
Looking ahead, Luohu will continue to promote sailing, windsurfing, and other distinctive sports programs in schools, inspiring more students to step beyond their comfort zones, explore their potential, and grow through challenge and discovery.
