Construction begins on Longguoshui Interchange in Shenzhen

Construction has officially begun on the Longguoshui Interchange and its connecting roads, a key municipal project aimed at improving the transportation environment in eastern Shenzhen. Once completed, the project will provide residents with a more convenient and efficient travel experience.
Designed as a “separated main expressway interchange with auxiliary road intersections,” the project will create a well-structured, multi-level traffic network to enhance connectivity and ease local congestion.
The interchange is located within the ecological protection and scenic areas of the Dawutong Ecological Integration Zone. From the outset, planners have carefully considered multiple factors — including basic ecological control lines, ecological redlines, water source protection zones, and cultural heritage sites — to clearly define construction boundaries.
To minimize environmental impact, the project adopts a combined “road–bridge–tunnel” design that avoids large-scale earthworks, achieving coordinated progress between infrastructure development and ecological preservation.
The Longguoshui Interchange project is scheduled for completion on Feb. 28, 2027.
