The U13 team from Cuiyuan Junior High School in Luohu District claimed the championship title at the 2025 "Meiya · Minnan Light Cup" National Youth Football Elite Invitational Tournament, finishing with a perfect record of five consecutive victories.
During the tournament, Cuiyuan's U13 squad delivered a series of impressive performances, defeating Zhengzhou No. 65 Middle School 8-0, overcoming host school Xiamen No. 2 Middle School 3-1, and beating long-time rival Zhengzhou University of Light Industry Affiliated Middle School 3-1 in the third match. They went on to triumph 4-2 over Jimei Middle School in the fourth round, setting up a rematch with their Zhengzhou rivals in the final.
The championship match was a thrilling contest. Despite trailing 0-1 in the first half, the Luohu side remained composed under the steady guidance of head coach Guo Xufeng. Mounting a strong counterattack in the second half, they scored twice to seal a 2-1 comeback victory and lift the championship trophy — showcasing their tactical discipline and mental resilience.
As a national and provincial "Campus Football Model School," Cuiyuan Junior High School has been a pioneer in football education. It established Guangdong's first middle school football club — the Cuiyuan Football Club — and has built a comprehensive talent development system integrating football into daily teaching, professional training programs, and the school's regular "Cui Super League" class tournaments, making football an integral part of campus life.
