Luohu youth shine on sports stage with record-breaking wins

August was a golden month for young athletes from Luohu district, Shenzhen, who delivered standout performances in track and field, climbing, and football.
At the recently concluded WSE Athletics Open (Macao stop), 13-year-old sprinter Han Xin thrilled the crowd by winning three gold medals and breaking two records within just eight hours. He set a new group record in the 100 meters with a time of 11.3 seconds, shattered the 60-meter record with 7.17 seconds, and claimed the 200-meter title in 23.82 seconds.
In the inaugural National Youth Climbing Championships, Chen Jixuan, a first-year student at Songquan Experimental School, won the U15 men’s speed title in 6.05 seconds. His result met the national first-class speed climber standard, making him the first male athlete from Shenzhen to earn this designation.
Footballers from Cuiyuan Experimental School also made history, clinching titles in both the Guangdong Provincial Primary and Secondary School Football Championships and the National Youth Futsal Championships in the same month.
