Liantang Port sets single-day record with 117,000 travelers

On Aug. 10, Liantang Border Inspection Station processed 117,000 inbound and outbound travelers, setting a new single-day record.
Since the start of the summer holiday, cross-boundary passenger flows between Shenzhen and Hong Kong via Liantang Port have continued to climb, fueled by group tours, family trips, and study exchange programs.
In response to the surge, the Liantang Border Inspection Station has rolled out multiple measures to ensure safe, smooth and efficient customs clearance. Statistics show that in 2025, inbound and outbound travelers through Liantang Port have exceeded 15 million, marking a year-on-year increase of 21.3%. The figures underscore the normalization of cross-border consumption among residents of Hong Kong and Shenzhen.
The deep integration of Hong Kong’s “mega event economy” and Shenzhen’s “night economy” is not only energizing the two cities’ consumer markets but also illustrating their growing interaction and mutual appeal. This “tale of two cities” is becoming a model for integration within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and serves as a reference for enhancing regional economic connectivity and upgrading culture and tourism consumption in urban clusters nationwide
Luohu district plans to roll out more tourism services and support measures, continuing to explore innovative ways to integrate “culture and tourism + consumption,” and adding new momentum to Shenzhen-Hong Kong culture and tourism cooperation.
