Hometown Flavors Experience Center opens in Shenzhen's Luohu District

On July 2, the nation's first "Hometown Flavors Experience Center" opened in Dongmen, Luohu District, Shenzhen. The launch ceremony also featured the signing of an “Industry Alliance Pact” and the kickoff of the 2025 Shenzhen Consumer Support Product Marketing and Creative Design Competition, aimed at building a market-driven, sustainable model for consumption-based assistance.
Located in the historic Dongmen commercial hub, the new center will serve as a showcase and stable sales channel for high-quality agricultural products from across China. It is expected to play an active role in driving regional coordinated development and revitalizing rural industries.
Leveraging Dongmen's rich cultural heritage and heavy foot traffic, the center will explore a new consumption model that integrates experiential retail, cultural tourism, and public welfare. This innovative approach aims to inject fresh vitality into the traditional business district while creating new opportunities for consumption-based assistance initiatives.
At the launch event, Shenzhen Media Group joined forces with major retail giants like China Resources and Rainbow, platform providers such as Douyin and SF Express, and representatives from industry associations and suppliers—including the Hunan Agricultural Products Marketing Association and Shanwei’s Shenzhen Liaison Office—to sign strategic cooperation agreements. This collaboration will establish an efficient ecosystem that connects production sites with consumers, covering procurement, display and sales, logistics, and online promotion.
To address the challenge of poor branding for some supported products, the 2025 Shenzhen Consumer Support Product Marketing and Creative Design Competition was officially launched. The competition will bring together top domestic design talent and universities to create innovative solutions, including low-carbon, recyclable packaging and holistic brand identity systems. By infusing cultural and creative elements, the initiative seeks to enhance the market appeal of high-quality goods.
Outstanding entries will have the chance to compete for the prestigious Kunpeng Award, be showcased during Shenzhen Design Week.
The event also included the 2025 Shanpin Rongwan—Shanwei Lychee Promotion Fair, which gave a boost to local specialty industries. Led by Shanwei Vice Mayor Zhou Xiaozhuang, the delegation promoted premium lychee varieties such as Fengshan Hongdenglong and Hongzhen. On-site agreements were signed between Shanwei growers and Shenzhen companies like Yuanxing Fruits and Pagoda, securing annual supply deals for 1,800 tons—marking a significant breakthrough for Shanwei lychees in entering the Greater Bay Area market.
