Luohu Hospital Group has launched Shenzhen’s first Medical Equipment Insurance initiative—an innovative solution aimed at improving the reliability and maintenance of medical equipment.

Stable equipment operation is essential for patient care, but traditional maintenance models often fall short, with scattered services and inconsistent standards. To address this, Luohu is pioneering a shift from pay-for-repair to an insurance-based model, offering hospitals a more efficient, standardized, and responsive system.

Under this model, the insurance company provides comprehensive coverage and fast-response repair services. It also includes preventive maintenance by professional partners to detect and fix potential issues early, reducing downtime and extending equipment lifespan.

A dual guarantee system—covering both regular maintenance and equipment uptime—ensures machines like dental chairs receive timely service. As a result, the hospital’s equipment uptime now exceeds 95%, while maintenance costs have dropped by over 10%.

This move marks a major shift from reactive repairs to proactive care, helping hospitals better serve patients while improving cost control. Luohu Hospital Group plans to further explore innovative strategies to enhance healthcare quality and efficiency citywide.
