If you lose your passport, please complete the procedures of passport reissue within the validity period of the visa (to avoid overstaying).
What should I do if I lose my passport?

1  | Go to the police station where the passport is lost and issue a “Passport Lost  Report Receipt.”  | Instant handling  | 
2  | Go to the Exit and Entry Administration of the local Municipal Public Security Bureau to issue a “Passport Loss Certificate.”  | Issue on the second day  | 
3  | Within 30 days after receiving the “Passport Loss Certificate,” go to your country’s embassy or consulate in China to apply for a new passport.  | Detailed information can be inquired from the embassies and consulates  | 
4  | Bring your new passport and “Passport Loss Certificate” to the police station in your jurisdiction to register for temporary residence.  | Register immediately  | 
5  | Apply for a new visa or residence permit at the local municipal entry and exit administration.  | The  legal processing time is 20 working days, while the promised processing time is 1-3 working days.  |

What materials are required for passport reissue?
Materials required can be seen on the official website of Shenzhen Municipal PSB or “深圳公安(Shenzhen Public Security)” WeChat official account.
Approach (1): Enter the official website of Shenzhen Municipal PSB (http://ga.sz.gov.cn/), select “FOREIGNER”-“Application for Reporting Loss of Passport.”
Approach 2: Enter “深圳公安(Shenzhen Public Security)” WeChat official account, select “政务服务(Administrative Service)”-“出入境业务(Exit-Entry Service)”-“外国人护照报失证明(Application for Reporting Loss of Passport).
