One month to go — National Games set to power Greater Bay Area development
With one month remaining before the 15th National Games, preparations have entered a critical stage. Co-hosted by Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, this edition marks the first time the three regions will jointly organize China's highest-level comprehensive sporting event.
The Games are injecting fresh momentum into the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), with the sports industry emerging as a new driver of regional growth. By integrating sports with culture, tourism, and technology, the event is fostering a positive cycle in which major competitions empower industries and industrial upgrades fuel economic development.
In Shenzhen, the Games have become a catalyst for innovation across areas such as venue operation, sports equipment manufacturing, and digital broadcasting. The city is also leveraging the event to promote cross-sector integration — linking sports with the low-altitude economy, cultural tourism, and conventions and exhibitions — achieving notable results.
As a window showcasing the vitality of the GBA, the National Games are expected to further elevate the region's international profile. Hosting the event to international standards while reflecting Chinese character and Greater Bay Area charm will offer a powerful platform to share the stories of China, Guangdong, and the Greater Bay Area with the world.
