Under the theme "City Theater," the biennale presents the city itself as a stage for cultural expression and urban dialogue. The main exhibition venue is located at Shenzhen Talent Park, with the Hetao Innovation and Technology Center serving as a parallel site. In addition, the event links nine sub-venues across six districts in Shenzhen, creating a citywide cultural network.
This year's biennale brings together more than 800 exhibitors from 21 countries and regions, including the Chinese mainland, China's Hong Kong and Macao, South Korea, Japan, India, Singapore, Mongolia, France, Italy, Germany, Moldova, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Uruguay, Australia and South Africa. A total of 489 works are on display, with 58 international participants.
During the exhibition period, a series of academic forums and public programs will also be held, encouraging in-depth discussion on urban development and broader public engagement.
Founded in 2005 and jointly organized by Shenzhen and Hong Kong since 2007, the biennale is the world's first international biennale dedicated to the theme of cities and urbanization.
