Shenzhen Opera House enters fast-track construction phase
The Shenzhen Opera House, a flagship cultural development in the city’s long-term urban planning, has entered the fast-track phase of its main steel structure construction, signaling major progress toward establishing a world-class cultural landmark in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
As one of Shenzhen's most important cultural infrastructure projects in the new era, the opera house is designed to become a premier performing arts venue, a hub for international cultural exchange, a new artistic landmark, and a public art space for residents.
With a planned gross floor area of approximately 211,500 square meters, the facility will include a grand opera hall, concert hall, chamber opera hall, multi-functional theater, and an integrated public service and experience zone — forming a comprehensive platform for a diverse range of cultural performances and artistic events.
According to current timelines, the Shenzhen Opera House is scheduled for completion and acceptance by December 2028.
