The Xinzhong Tunnel on the Shenzhen-Nanning High-Speed Railway (HSR) has been successfully drilled through, marking a significant milestone in the project’s construction progress. At 3.22 kilometers, it is now the longest completed tunnel along the entire line.

As a key control project, the tunnel’s breakthrough removes a major bottleneck and creates favorable conditions for upcoming beam‑erection and track-laying operations. The achievement is expected to further accelerate construction efficiency across the route.

The Shenzhen-Nanning HSR forms a core section of the Baotou-Haikou Corridor, one of China’s major north-south high-speed rail arteries. The full line spans approximately 661 kilometers, including 357 kilometers within Guangdong province. Running from Shenzhen in Guangdong to Nanning in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the railway will establish a new high-speed link between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the broader southwestern region.
