33rd Guangzhou Fair closes with 40 billion yuan in contracts
The 33rd Guangzhou Fair concluded on August 24, attracting more than 160,000 visitors and yielding 83 cooperation projects with a total intended contract value of 40.08 billion yuan (about $5.6 billion).
Marking a shift from government-led to market-driven exhibitions, the fair placed greater emphasis on market forces in resource allocation. It featured four themed sections covering innovation and inventions, urban renewal, the automotive aftermarket, consumer support, packaging, elderly care, healthcare, gifts and home, cultural and creative IP, and traditional crafts. Exhibition space reached 180,000 square meters, up more than 50% year on year.
With a focus on cultivating new quality productive forces, the fair showcased emerging industries such as artificial intelligence and robotics, intelligent connected and new energy vehicles, and the low-altitude economy and aerospace. Cutting-edge technologies and products were highlighted, underscoring industry trends and injecting strong momentum into industrial upgrading and innovation-driven growth.
