Greater Bay Area launches first China-Europe e-commerce express freight train
The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area's first China-Europe freight train dedicated to e-commerce was officially launched on Saturday. Departing from the Pinghu South National Logistics Hub in Shenzhen, the train is loaded with 3D printers, gaming accessories, and other e-commerce products. It will exit China via Alashankou Port and is expected to arrive in Budapest, Hungary, in approximately 15 days.
The launch marks a significant step in enhancing trade logistics between the GBA and Europe, providing a new high-efficiency, low-cost logistics channel for cross-border e-commerce.
"The Greater Bay Area is a major source of cross-border e-commerce goods. The opening of this e-commerce express freight train offers a brand-new logistics option for exporting e-commerce products," said Sun Lu, general manager of a Shenzhen-based logistics company. "Compared with traditional sea and air transport, the China-Europe freight train offers both higher efficiency and lower costs. It’s especially suited to e-commerce cargo, which is typically small in volume, diverse in batches, and requires fast delivery."
Next, Shenzhen Customs will work with businesses to take full advantage of facilitated clearance measures, such as manifest consolidation, while continuously optimizing supervision procedures and enhancing customs clearance efficiency to support the high-quality development of cross-border e-commerce.
