Luohu's 10th Neighborhood Festival strengthens community ties
The 10th Luohu Community Neighborhood Festival's main event took place Oct. 12–13 at Dongmen Old Street Square, bringing together more than 2,000 residents to celebrate community culture and neighborhood spirit.
The event featured a rich lineup of performances, including orchestral renditions of "My Motherland" and "Cotton Blossom," dances such as "The East Is Red," songs like "Big Fish," crosstalk sketches, martial arts demonstrations, and the children's dance "Joy of Neighbors." A band performance of "Free Like a Dream" brought the event to a rousing finale, creating a warm and festive atmosphere.
To promote interaction and closer bonds among residents, organizers set up 12 engaging games suitable for all ages. Participants could try VR helicopter rides, simulated skiing, and spaceship missions, as well as enjoy traditional activities such as archery and pitch-pot. Trendy games like the "10-second challenge" added extra fun, helping neighbors reconnect and revive the warmth of old community ties.
The festival also prepared 1,300 gift packs for participants and partnered with businesses in the Dongmen commercial area to provide generous discounts covering dining, shopping, and entertainment — allowing residents to enjoy real benefits while celebrating community life.
