The Dongmen Pedestrian Street in Shenzhen’s Luohu district, which has a history of more than 300 years, is the most mature commercial consumption area with the longest history and largest scale in Shenzhen.
The street has witnessed the fundamental changes Shenzhen has experienced since the reform and opening up.  
Early this year, the Luohu district government published an action plan (2023-25) proposing to transform Dongmen into a fashion consumption zone. According to the plan, about 15,000 square meters of the area will be upgraded over the following two years. By then, time-honored brands and new consumption models will have integrated in the iconic consumption zone, injecting new vitality to the oldest pedestrian street in Shenzhen.
