The Guangdong provincial health commission reported on Aug. 14 that a yogurt sales assistant of the Shuibei IBC Hema Fresh Food Supermarket was confirmed to have been infected with the new coronavirus in her hometown of Lufeng, Shanwei city, Guangdong province. She lives at Buji Runxiang Home in Longgang district.

After receiving the report, Luohu initiated its emergency plan and quarantined all employees of the supermarket and administered nucleic acid tests. The supermarket was also closed and thoroughly disinfected.

As of 23:00 pm Aug. 14, another two employees of the supermarket were confirmed to be asymptomatic carriers of the virus, but the tests of all other employees were negative.

The two other persons live in Luohu and Longgang respectively, and they have been quarantined and put under medical observation in Shenzhen No 3 People's Hospital. Luohu has quarantined all residents in their immediate neighborhood of unit 2 building No 32 of the Xinxiu village south zone, and samples have been taken from the community affected.

According to regulations on pandemic prevention and control, all residents living adjacent to the Shuibei IBC tower are required to receive a free nucleic test for the new coronavirus. It is hoped that residents will be cooperative and strictly follow the relevant requirements. Before test results are issued, none of the residents are permitted to leave their respective neighborhoods. They can contact the sub-district office if emergencies arise.

All residents are strongly advised to strengthen their everyday personal safety measures, wear masks correctly, wash hands often, ventilate indoor areas frequently, practice social distancing and work with relevant departments to effectively manage their health If anyone feels discomfort, they should immediately seek medical attention at the nearest fever clinic.
