The China Resources Vanguard supermarket is described as a "center for poverty alleviation center through consumption".
From ginger candy and tea-seed oil to chestnut and organic duck, the specialties from the two remote mountainous counties have attracted much consumer attention.

A sales assistant, surnamed Fu, said she needs to introduce the two counties, particularly their ideal natural and husbandry-related environment, to consumers, as they are curious about where the goods are coming from.
A consumer surnamed Du said the consumption experience in the brick-and-mortar shop is better than buying from an e-commerce platform, as the consumers can see the commodities, and even taste the tea, for instance, before making decision.
Another consumer surnamed Li said that buying the commodities at the supermarket was meaningful as not only could people enjoy food coming from afar, but were also contributing to the poverty alleviation work.
The sales assistant named Fu said the government would broadcast information about the farms in the two counties through a monitor, so that consumers could better understand the sources of the food.
Huang Bin, president of the Chunguang Agriculture Development Company of Baise city, to which the two countries belong, said sales were proving to be good, meaning the agricultural produce could stand the tests of the market and consumers.
He said the platform provides a direct bridge between farmers in the west of Guangxi with consumers in Shenzhen, making it easier for the farmers to increase their income.
Luohu is a commercial zone of Shenzhen, and has the advantage in offering the counties' specialties a big market.
Luohu will set up more such outlets in its supermarkets and department stores to strive for a win-win result for the two sides, said Zhao Jinsong, deputy chief of Luohu industry and information technology bureau.
From January to July, the two counties have sold specialties worth of 21.66 million yuan ($3.12 million) in Luohu.
