The Luohu district leadership spent three days Sept.23-25 attending a seminar involved in the governance of Luohu.

Luohu Party chief Luo Yude presided over the seminar and delivered speeches at the beginning and end of the seminar.

All elements involved in the governance of Luohu, ranging from lawmakers and Party officials to political advisory bodies and the government, as well as judicial department and grassroots departments, took part.

Liu Zhiyong, head of the Luohu district government, Xiong Guowei, chair of the Standing Committee of the District's People's Congress, and Wu Yuzhong, chair of the District's People’s Political Consultative Conference were among those leading the activity.

Participants analyzed developments in their respective fields, studied the development plan for the next five years, and discussed some of the big projects related to the district’s reform and opening-up, against the backdrop of building Shenzhen as pilot demonstration zone of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Liu Zhiyong, Xiong Guowei and Wu Yuzhong delivered speeches on the key theme.

The participants agreed the seminar, setting the stage for in-depth discussion on their roles, had helped them raise their morale, enhance their unity and consolidate their confidence in overcoming difficulties.

Luo stressed that all civil servants and Party members must arm themselves with the political theories, and systematically understand the theories and apply them in practice.

Luo emphasized that the purpose of seminar was to enable everyone to better serve the people and promote Luohu’s development; the way of dialectical thinking can help everyone objectively see the new opportunities and challenges of the current development stage, better adhere to the main work keynote of seeking improvement in stability, and effectively balance COVID-19 pandemic control and economic and social development; the key projects assigned by the central authorities are the priorities of daily work, and the policies rolled out for these projects by the higher authorities should be seen as source of impetus for Luohu; the people’s interests are supreme, and the concept should be carried out in practices related to people’s livelihood so that Luohu’s development can become more people-oriented.
