Work of Luohu Women’s Federation hailed

The Fifth Congress of Women in Luohu was convened in the district’s assembly hall on Dec. 25.
More than 180 representatives of women from all walks of life took part in the meeting, which elected the new leadership of its fifth executive committee.
The conference also revealed details of the work plan for the next five years.
Ma Hong, chair of the Shenzhen Women’s Federation, Luohu Party chief Luo Yude, Luohu deputy Party chief and government head Liu Zhiyong, Xiong Guowei, chair of the Standing Committee of the District's People's Congress, and Wu Yuzhong, chair of the District's People's Political Consultative Conference, and other senior officials of Luohu, including Zhou Yichuan, Lv Manni, Lai Wu, Lai Jianhua, Tan Ruhui, Feng Jian, Luo Anna and Zhuang Yiting were among those attending.
Huang Yuqiong, chair of the Luohu Women’s Federation, delivered a work report on behalf of the outgoing fourth executive committee.
Among the 142 quantitative indices of women and children development in Luohu, 140 reached the required standards. Luohu has built service stations for adolescents and women in communities to ensure the federation’s services are fully accessible to needy children and women.
The district in recent years has also published a series of documents to further improve the social and institutional environment for women’s and children’s development in recent year, and has done tremendous productive work to protect their legal rights and interests.
Ma Hong encouraged federation members and women in general to make a bigger contribution to the development of the district.
Luo Yude appreciated society’s support for women’s affairs in the district, and he urged the women’s federation of various levels in Luohu to explore new ways to serve the women and children and play a bigger role in the district’s development in the direction of an all-embracing hub of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
