The average concentration of PM 2.5 in Luohu as of the end of November is 16.3 micrograms per cubic meter, ranked second best among all districts in Shenzhen and the lowest in Luohu since it started providing the data on air quality in 2012, according to the local ecology and environment bureau.
The ozone concentration in the air is 124 micrograms per cubic meter as of November, down 27% year-on-year, Luohu did not see a single day of air pollution in October and November. These two months used to see more air pollution than any other part of the year in the region.
Luohu is the first district in Shenzhen establishing an atmospheric environment automatic monitoring network.
As of November, the district had resolved 4,561 problems related to water pollution. The regional river and lake system is working well, with local governors taking water environment pollution prevention and control seriously.
The Shenzhen Reservoir in Luohu, as source of drinking water for residents of Shenzhen and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, has seen its water quality meet the national standards for many years consecutively.
