The 13th Guangdong Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) was held in Guangzhou, the capital of the province, from May 22 to 25.
Nanfang Daily, the official newspaper of the Guangdong Committee of the CPC, published an article on May 22 introducing Luohu's development over the past five years.
According to the article, Luohu's annual gross domestic product has exceeded 200 billion yuan ($29.9 billion), making its GDP output per unit of land 2.2 times the city's average.
Luohu has kept reforming its governance, medical care, education, and business service systems to improve the quality and sustainability of its socio-economic development.
The district also spares no effort to promote the integrated development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region with Shenzhen.
The district is now focusing on urban renovation and industrial upgrading.
