Quick response ensures normalcy in village after new COVID-19 case
Luohu mobilized more than 300 medical workers and over 400 grassroots civil servants to rush to the south of the Sungang village on Dec. 2, after a resident was confirmed as having been infected with the novel coronavirus.
The person is believed to have been a close contact of a lorry driver who was found to be infected with the virus the day before. The driver was responsible for shuttling between Shenzhen and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
As of 3 am on Dec. 3, a total of 2,913 samples had been collected from residents along with 27 environmental samples in the village. All samples collected so far have tested negative.
The district government has vowed to take all necessary measures to cut the transmission chain to avoid cluster infections.
Thanks to the efficiency of the relevant pandemic control departments and the cooperation of the people, daily life in the community has been able to continue as normal.
